Technical Animator
Flow (Unreleased, 2021)
Flow was a discontinued rhythm experience game centered around lyric performance. My responsibilities included supporting the Animation team across facial mocap retargeting and clean up, as well as cosmetic implementation, and cloth physics simulation.
Facial Mocap and Retargeting
I supported the animation team in capturing and processing motion capture data of lyric performances via FaceWear. Using Faceware Retargeter, I retargeted facial mocap data onto pre-existing head rigs in Maya, manually authoring face poses on key frames to guide the software in correctly mapping tracked video data to the appropriate facial shapes onto the rig.
Lip Sync Anim Implementation
Once lip sync retargeting was completed, I baked and exported the animation(s) into Unreal Engine, updating Animation Sequence metadata to synchronize the timing of Lip Sync performances with in-game audio.
Cosmetic Implementation, Rigging, Physics
In addition to lip-sync work I also implemented a range of character outfit meshes including pants, skirts, sneakers, tops, and hair which encompassed skinning, cloth, and hair physics which were driven by rigid body simulations in Unreal Engine.
